Our Story

Educating Minds, Inspiring Hearts

Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Arts and Commerce College, Pen, was established on 27th February 1984 with a mission to expand higher education in the hilly and rural Konkan region of Raigad district. The college serves students from rural, tribal, and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering first-generation learners and promoting social upliftment.

1984

Establishment of the college in Pen to provide accessible and inclusive higher education to rural and tribal students.

1998

Expansion of academic programmes with additional departments and strengthening of teaching-learning facilities.

2010

Introduction of postgraduate programmes in Marathi, Hindi, History, and M.Com, enhancing academic depth and research exposure.

2018

Recognition under UGC Sections 2(f) & 12(B), enabling quality improvements, grants, and institutional development.
